Closing to knit in the round:
CO (BLM) 5 sts. Continue knitting across front. CO (BLM) 5 sts. Knit across back. Knit the 5 CO sts, then
use the extra length of yarn between the CO sts and the body front to form one more backward loop and purl this st. Knit across front.
When you come to the 5 CO sts of the left pocket, again use the extra length of yarn
between the CO sts and the body back to form one more backward loop and purl this st.
Continue knitting in pattern until all increases for front and back have been
completed.
Total stitch count: 216 (240, 264, 300
/ 324, 348, 372).
Now is the time to finish the waistband
and the pockets, so you have a good
fit while trying on for the length of the

Dividing for legs:
Knit to the first marker (front middle). Put all sts from there to the back middle on your extra circ needle. You now have each leg on it’s own needle. Use the right and the left needle tips at the front middle and hold them parallel in one hand and – using a simple, single thread figure 8 method
– cast on:
Cast on 10 (10, 16, 16 / 16, 16, 22) loops for each needle. The first loop should go around the bottom needle, the last one around the top needle.
After the first couple of figure eights, pull on your thread to make sure the
first loop sits snuggly against the last live stitch on your needle, then continue with your cast on until you
have reached the number for your size. Pull the bottom needle through its loops until they sit on the cable
part. Now again carefully pull to adjust for a good snug fit.
Now you close the round of your right leg by picking up the first live st on the middle back of it. Knit in pattern. As you come to the cast on loops, pick up one extra st either from the pants or the beginning and end of the loops to avoid a hole at the junctions. You should have enough sts to continue
knitting in pattern.
Should you still find the junction looks to loose after you have finished the pants and blocked
them, you can tighten them later witha tail or extra piece of yarn.
After a few rounds stop and repeat this process on your left leg (you will need a second ball of yarn).
Try it on again, as now is the perfect time to go back and cast on more or less sts between the legs to adjust the fit if necessary. And the fun begins: lots and lots and lots of peaceful, mindless knitting until
you have reached the right length for you.
Before you BO, take your pants through the blocking procedure and wear them around the house like that
for a while. If you are still happy with the length, purl 3 more rds and bind off purlwise with the larger needle.
This will make the seam curl inwards and give a soft finished look. Secure
all tails and block one more time. The yarn will get even softer and the hem
will blend in.
